The Joint Action Committee met the BSNL CMD some days back and insisted that bonus must be paid. He said no. After that JAC leaders went on hunger fast on 15 10 10.
After the commencement of the hunger fast, Sr. Director Agarmal came to our leaders and told that the matter of bonus is receiving attention and the matter will be placed before the board of directors for a decision.
On the basis of his assurance and on written reply from the management , the dharna planned on 19 10 10 was deferred.
But the managementl has issued a letter on 22 10 10 to all the leaders stating as PLI is granted on the basis of profit earned by the company, PLI is not payable to the staff as BSNL has shown loss .
On 25 10 10, JAC leaders met the CMD,BSNL and discussed about bonus. He told that this matter is coming before the board meeting on 27 10 10. Yet the management is not in a position to say yes or no to bonus.
The decision of the dharna on 28 10 10 was decided on 15th of this month itself.
Our questions?
On whose assurance, the Sr.Director, pacified the hunger fast leaders on 15 10 10?. Whether he had done it on his own or on behalf of the management. He must have done it on behalf of the management as a written reply was given to JAC.
As the matter is going to be discussed on 27 10 10, why dharna is planned on 28 10 10?
After one day dharna, still the management refuses, are we going for a strike over this issue?
As BSNLEU has entered into an agreement that PLI can be given on basis of profits, what the recognised union can say over this issue as BSNLEU is a signatory to the agreement. ?
