Whether the BSNL Workers Alliance is intact?
The agreement signed between NFTE and FNTO during the 4th verification has gone to air and that agreement was not respected. Whether any discussion took place or not?
Facing the 4th verification in the name of NFTE, FNTO and others voted for NFTE and BSNL Workers Alliance secured more than 95000 votes.
During the 4th verification itself, it was stated that FNTO will face the verification in its name and NFTE will vote for FNTO led alliance which will be decided at the appropriate time.
BSNL Workers Alliance lost the race for gaining the recognised union due to various reasons.
At Kolkatta executive of FNTO, it was decided to face the 5th verification in the name of FNTO and a resolution was passed that FNTO will face the 5th verification in the name of FNTO and NFTE will vote for FNTO.
The decision to face the 5th verification in the name of FNTO was suggested by a senior leader of NFTE only.
The CWC at Jallandur did not mention anything about the agreement made earlier with NFTE and FNTO.
The agreement was not at all honoured.
It is true that BWA worked hard as an alternate to BSNLEU and because of BSNLWA solved many problems relating to our employees and surely it is a force to reckon with.
NFTE has some vision regarding 2nd union recongnition in BSNL.
NFTE wrote a article that it has got 95000 members some months back and it deserves recognision as a second union status. Whether all the votes polled by NFTE were its votes or votes from alliance partners?
NFTE insists on 15% membership and tries to settle second union status. It has conveniently forgotten that its major alliance partner in the 4th verification has not got that much votes and NFTE wants to go away with the second union status leaving in lurch of FNTO and other alliance partners. NFTE wants the support of FNTO for second union status and not cared to take its alliance partners with NFTE.
How to broaden the alliance with FNTO for 5th verification.? When NFTE wants to contest the election in its name, whether FNTO comes to terms with NFTE and face the elections and vote for NFTE.
NFTE has not categorically spell out its stand that 5% or 10% is just sufficient for simple recognition in BSNL.
The article has not mentioned any thing about the stand of NFTE regarding Kolkatta resolution.
There are chances for BSNLWA to come victorious in this 5th verification if much thought is given by having more alliance partners and face the verification in consultation with FNTO and alliance leaders.
If FNTO decides to form another front, surely BSNLEU will be no 1 automatically going by its membership forms.
Already workers suffer because of recovery going to be effected by NEPP, TTAs suffering because of minus recovery,workers suffering without bonus because of an agreement made by BSNLEU and so on on.
If there is no vision , this 5th verification will be a cake walk for BSNLEU.
BWA is in tact for the present because the Leaders of NFTE & FNTO are fully aware of the fact that in event of NFTE and FNTO contesting election individually, theBSNLEU will have easy cake walk. I feel that FNTO contesting election in its own strength will make its position more comfortable in the minds of workers. There is every possibility that the workers who are not satisfied with either BSNLEU or NFTE will have opportunity to ventilate their grievance. This can result in change of scenario and in the even of fearing of loosing, both will start vocifarious propaganda which will indirectly result in making worekrs to know the real position as mere propaganda and false promises will now not work.
