- It is unfortunate that the former Telecom. Minister is in the international news for all the wrong reasons. The image of India has taken a battering. Already the western press does not speak very highly of India and its Politicians. With the latest spectrum scam which is of mammoth proportions India and the Indian Govt. has become a laughing stock. By steadfastly opposing the JPC the Indian Govt. is keeping the issue live and has become partly responsbile for not conducting the parliament's business. Any probe by a retd. judge will not inspire any confidence as all the previous Commissions' panel reports are gathering dust. The raids in the house of the former Telecom.Minister also does not inspire confidence as the Govt.'s action is analogous to closing the stable after the horses have bolted.
