Govt to get 1 lakh crore through waves.

 NEW DELHI: The government’s revenue from sale of 3G and Broadband Wireless airwaves crossed the Rs 1 lakh crore on Monday. The 13th day of the broadband spectrum auctions also witnessed the bids for the Tamil Nadu and Punjab circles exceeding the final 3G bid price.

The government had estimated to garner Rs 35,000 crore from both 3G and BWA auctions combined.

The pan-India bid price for a broadband licence touched Rs 11,518 crore, up 558% compared with the original bid price of Rs 1,750 crore, after a total of 102 rounds of bidding were completed as of Tuesday, the telecoms department said in its website.
