CDA increased by 8% From D.D.Mistry Gujarat

20.03.2010 : CDA Increased by 8% w.e.f. 01.01.2010 (27% to 35%) : On Friday, 19.03.2010, the Cabinet Okayed increasing Dearness Allowance for central government employees and pensioners by 8% to compensate for price rise. The increase is in accordance with the accepted formula based on the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.
The hike would be over the existing rate of 27% of basic pay or pension and the additional installment of DA would be released with effect from January this year. The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be to the tune of Rs 6,969.36 crores per annum and Rs 8,131.20 crores in the financial year 2010-2011. 19.03.2010; In to-day’s Cabinet Meeting a decision to increase CDA from 27 to 35% will is likely to be taken which will benefit more than 50 lac C.G. employees and pensioners.
