JAC meets CMD BSNL
Com. V.A.N.Namboodiri, Convener, JAC and President, BSNLU, met Shri R.K.Upadhyay, CMD BSNL today, 28th March and discussed about the progress in the procurement of equipments and other connected matters. CMD informed that the Advance Purchasing Order for 15.5 million lines will be finalised by the end of this month and that APC for 4 lakh broadband modem has already been issued on 19th March.. When pointed out that this is too insufficient, he informed that additional modems will also be ordered according to the requirement. He congratulated the Kerala Circle and its workers for the excellent performance and the comparative better revenue. Com.Namboodiri demanded that the regularisation of the left out casual labours coming to about 4,000, including 2270 from W.Bengal alone, be regularised at the earliest as has been done in the case of other government departments and PSUs. He assured to look in to the matter.

Meeting with Director (HR)
Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, President, BSNLEU met Shri A.N.Rai, Director (HR) on 27th March and demanded early regularisation of the left out casual labours in the BSNL. He pointed out that there was no justification in delaying the regularisation. Despite the Umadevi case judgment of the Supreme Court, government departments and other PSUs have regularised their casual labour. As per the agreement with the Federations at the time of the corporatisation, these left out casual labours should be regularised. Director (HR ) agreed to sympathetically consider the case.

Anomaly of seniors getting less than juniors
Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, President, met Shri R.N.Goyal, GM (Estt.) and urged the management to get orders issued on the basis of the Supreme Court judgement, dismissing the SLP filed by the government against the decision of the CAT and High Court in the case of anomaly/aberration resulted after the wage revision on conversion from CDA to IDA pay scale. The orders should be general orders and not for the persons approached the court only. He stated that the corporate office is seeking for certain particulars from the circles and decision will be taken after getting the same.
